The Pleasure of Sound is an independent film produced by Detroit's public radio station, WDET , Mikel Ellcessor and The Work in partnership with Ghostly International. The film captures two days with Jad Abumrad & Matthew Dear as they make music and explore the creativity that fuels their work.
Matthew Dear is an internationally acclaimed musician and co-founder of Ghostly International.
Jad Abumrad is a Macarthur and Peabody award-winning radio producer and host of WNYC's Radiolab.
Shot entirely at Detroit locations (Wayne State University, The Detroit Design Center, Movement Electronic Music Festival, The Empowerment Plan and WDET), the film also features original recordings of Detroit Symphony Orchestra musicians.
